Invoices
Completed visits become draft invoices on their own. Send them, chase them, mark them paid.
The single most expensive habit in this trade is finishing work and not billing it. A completed visit becomes a draft invoice on its own, priced and dated, so the question is whether to send it rather than whether you remembered.
Card payments
Clients pay by card on a page in your own colours and logo. Stripe handles the card, you get the money.
People pay faster when paying is easy. A page in your colours, your logo, and your own Stripe account behind it - the card is Stripe's problem and the money is yours, landing in your bank rather than sitting with a middleman.
Expenses
Receipts, bank statement imports, and ten categories your accountant already recognises.
The work is not the receipt, it is the sorting - and the sorting is what nobody does until the year end, by which point half of them have faded to blank paper in a glovebox.
Mileage
Logged from the round automatically at the HMRC rate, with the claim worked out for you.
On a dense round this is usually the single largest thing people forget to claim. The alternative is reconstructing a year of driving in April from a diary and a hope.
The tax year
